No matter how hard you try, are you finding it challenging to attract what you want? Staying in the positive flow needed to manifest can feel nearly impossible. Maybe thoughts like being “unlucky” or “unworthy” start flooding your mind. If this resonates with your experience using the Law of Attraction (LOA), stay tuned—we’re diving into how trauma might be holding you back.
So grab your tea, wrap yourself in your comfiest blanket, and let’s chat!
Hey, y’all! Welcome to my channel. If you’re returning, welcome back—I’m so thankful you’re here! If you’re new, let me introduce myself. My name is Drew Johnson Nwabueze. I’ve got over eight years of experience as an energy worker, sound healer, and community activist, and I’m currently a second-year PhD student. I bring this up to share that I have a background in today’s topic: trauma and the Law of Attraction.
This conversation was inspired by an online reader who suggested we should “just forget” negative experiences. While that advice may work for some, for others—especially those whose brains are wired differently due to trauma—it’s just not that simple. His response didn’t sit well with me, and it made me reflect on my journey with LOA and how I’ve navigated the resistance trauma creates.
If you clicked on this blog, you probably already know about LOA. But just in case, here’s a quick breakdown:
What Is the Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction is the idea that your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs don’t just attract similar energy—they actively shape the life you want to live. By focusing your mindset, emotions, and actions, you align yourself with your goals and desires. When you’re in a state of clarity and positivity, you’re not only drawing those things toward you but also setting yourself up to create and receive them.
What Does Trauma Have to Do with It?
Trauma can create emotional and energetic blocks, making it harder to effectively use LOA. Since LOA operates on the principle of “like attracts like,” unresolved trauma can anchor you in negative thought patterns, fear, and self-doubt—blocking your ability to manifest abundance, joy, or love.
Trauma often disconnects us from our sense of worthiness. Without a belief in your own value, it’s tough to align with the higher vibrations of gratitude and abundance that LOA thrives on. Trauma can also store unresolved emotions in your body, creating resistance to positive intentions and limiting your belief in your own potential.
My LOA Journey
I’ve used LOA to manifest money for my nonprofit (hello, $5k!), build meaningful friendships, and even gain spiritual insights. Each success required me to work through feelings of unworthiness and truly believe in my heart’s desires—even when I didn’t fully feel it at the time. For example, when I was preparing for a trip to California, I packed my bags and fully embodied the feeling of hugging my friend when I arrived. Sure, it felt silly at first, but the giddiness and excitement kept me centered.
How to Use the Law of Attraction
Here are the steps I’ve followed to manifest effectively:
Be Clear About Your Goal: Write down exactly what you want. For me, this process helps me distinguish between fleeting desires and what truly fulfills my heart.
Use Positive Affirmations: Reprogram your brain to believe in your goal. When doubt creeps in, affirm your worthiness, safety, and ability to receive good things.
Focus on Your Goal: Replace negative thoughts with positive ones, and visualize how achieving your goal would feel.
Practice Gratitude: Appreciate what you already have and acknowledge your progress toward your goal.
Take Action: Manifestation isn’t magic—it’s collaboration. Be an active participant in your process. Whether it’s booking a flight or drafting a book, action grounds your intentions in reality.
Start Small: Tackle small goals first to build momentum and confidence in the process.
Choose Your Environment Wisely: Remove blocks by surrounding yourself with positivity. I leaned on meditation, journaling, prayer, and nature to recalibrate my emotional state and restore alignment with my desires.
A Gentle Reminder
LOA isn’t just about physical manifestations like money—it can help you attract spiritual gifts, guidance, and connection. Remember, the energy you emit has to match the energy of what you want. For example, if you want financial abundance but carry a poverty mindset rooted in childhood experiences, it may take additional work to shift your vibration.
Final Thoughts
Healing from trauma is a process, but it can create a clear channel for LOA to work in your life. Lean into self-love, affirm your worth, and trust in your ability to create the life you deserve.
I hope this post encouraged you and gave you hope if you’ve been struggling to align with LOA. Keep going! Please share your LOA success stories or where you are in your process below—let’s support each other.
Until next time, peace!
